Flagship engagement
China Supplier Benchmark Sprint
$750 fixed price
For a company with one defined product, quote or purchasing requirement that needs to know whether it is the right decision before serious money moves.
One product. Up to three suppliers. Fixed scope. Fixed price.
Typical turnaround: 7 to 10 business days after complete product information is received, subject to supplier responsiveness.
The questions it answers
The purchasing questions that are usually left open
Quotes get accepted without anyone challenging them in the supplier's own language. These are the questions the Sprint is built to answer.
- 01
Is this actually the right supplier for this product?
- 02
Is my pricing competitive, or am I paying a middleman's margin?
- 03
Is this MOQ reasonable for what I am buying?
- 04
Am I dealing with a manufacturer or a trading company, and which one should I want?
- 05
Are my specifications actually understood in production, or only in English?
- 06
Does a better-fit supplier exist for this specific product?
Step one
What you provide
- One defined product or SKU
- Specifications, photos, drawings or reference information
- Target quantity
- Customization requirements
- Current supplier or quotation, if you have one
- U.S. destination
- Target timing
Step two
How the three-supplier limit works
If you already have a supplier, we benchmark your current supplier plus up to two alternatives. If you have no supplier yet, we identify and benchmark up to three supplier candidates for the defined product.
You do not need an existing China supplier to work with China Buying Desk. Each supplier is contacted directly in Mandarin and compared on the same terms. The appropriate supplier base is selected for the product, based on capability, pricing, MOQ, customization, lead time and commercial risk.
If you need ongoing sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, sampling or production management beyond the Sprint, that work can be scoped separately.
Included
What the $750 deliverable is
- Executive decision summary
- Supplier comparison matrix
- Material commercial and supplier risk flags
- Pricing, MOQ, lead time, sample, customization, tooling or setup fee and payment-term comparison
- Basic manufacturer or trading-company review and company-registration verification
- Recommendation using KEEP, RENEGOTIATE, SAMPLE, SWITCH or DO NOT PROCEED
- 30-minute results review call
Supplier verification and commercial screening
Company registration checks, manufacturer versus trading-company review, product specialization, commercial and document review, and obvious credibility or operational red flags. This is commercial screening, not certification: it does not replace a formal factory audit, regulatory certification, laboratory testing or professional legal and compliance review.
Landed economics
Material freight, tariff, packaging and other landed-cost considerations identified during the benchmark are flagged where they could materially change the purchasing decision. Binding customs classification, customs advice, brokerage services and freight quotations sit outside the standard $750 Sprint unless separately scoped.
Not included
What it does not cover
- Unlimited product research or product ideation
- Multiple unrelated SKUs
- Physical supplier visits
- Samples or sample freight
- Physical inspections and formal factory audits
- Laboratory testing and regulatory certification
- Legal or compliance opinions
- Binding customs classification, customs advice or brokerage
- Freight quotations and freight booking
- Production management
- Tooling
- Unlimited negotiation after delivery
- Guarantees of supplier performance, product quality, regulatory approval, customs clearance, delivery dates or sales results
A physical supplier visit is not automatically included in the $750 Sprint. China Buying Desk can visit suppliers in person when commercially justified, with separate scheduling and scope. Visits, sampling, negotiation rounds and production coordination are quoted separately.

Example recommendation
SAMPLE SUPPLIER C
Supplier C offers the lowest MOQ and the broadest customization at a unit price close to the cheapest option, with payment terms that do not require full prepayment. Supplier B is cheaper per unit but the MOQ triples the order value. Sample Supplier C, confirm the packaging specification in writing, and keep Supplier B as a volume option for a later run. (Illustrative example only.)
The deliverable
It ends in a recommendation, not a spreadsheet of factories.
KEEP
The current supplier is competitive. Order with confidence.
RENEGOTIATE
The supplier is workable, but the commercial terms are not.
SAMPLE
One or more alternatives justify a sample before committing.
SWITCH
A better-fit supplier exists for this specific product.
DO NOT PROCEED
The commercial or supplier risk does not support an order yet.
The Sprint is standalone. There is no requirement to place an order through China Buying Desk, and no commission-driven reason to prefer one supplier over another. Once an engagement is confirmed, you receive the agreed scope and payment instructions in writing.
